Common Core
The Common Core is a foundational academic standard in mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) that establishes what students K-12 should learn by the end of each school year. Each grade has a different core curriculum that students in their respective grades should master. The Common Core was established in 2009 by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center). The two organizations collaborated with education experts such as teachers, administrators, university professors, founders of test prep companies to create a blueprint for educators across the country to use.
At Smart Tutors, we strive to provide students with materials that align with the Common Core Standards and one-on-one tutoring geared toward preparing them to excel in the classroom.
